This is the 2nd volume of the Monarch series, and is dedicated to the Dornier 335 Arrow. The Do 335 was one of the most unusual single-seat fighters of German Luftwaffe.
Powered by two of the most powerful 12-cylinder engines, one in the nose and the other buried in the rear fuselage, it was probably the fastest propeller-driven warplane of the Second World War. The Do 335 Arrow appeared too late to see operational service with the Luftwaffe, but it was a significant bridge between prop and jet-powered aircraft. The advanced Do 435, He 535 and Ju 635 projects are also covered in this volume. The book contains 250 photographs, 53 color photographs, 22 color illustrations and 50 drawings.

About the Author
J. Richard Smith, of Gloustershire, England, is a world renounded expert on World War II German aviation, having authored dozens of titles, over 30 years, on various topics dealing with the aviation of Germany during the time of the Third Reich. His many published works deal with aircraft histories of such important works as German Aircraft of the Second World War, Focke-Wulf an Aircraft Album, Messerschmitt an Aircraft Album, Luftwaffe Colors, Jet Planes of the Third Reich and Monarch 1, Arado 234 Blitz. He is currently co-author to The Official Monogram German Aircraft Color Guide 1930-1945, scheduled for publication in 2000.
